Esther Goldsmith

I'm an anthropologist by training, which means I spend my time trying to understand why people do what they do, and why that so often differs from what they say. Film has always seemed to me the art form that does this best. My degree at Edinburgh, where I graduated with First-Class Honours, taught me to listen closely, to ask better questions and to shape complicated material into something clear, whether in fieldwork and interviews, correspondence for the Prime Minister's office, or archive work at the Royal Anthropological Institute. I stay calm and warm when things get busy, and I'm looking for my first job in film, where I can learn fast and be useful from day one.
