Competitions
Four competitions, free for every MFJF member: three for your films and pictures, and The Brief for screenwriters. Win one and you get a laurel, like a film festival's, and a winner's card to share. The next winners are picked at midnight on Saturday 31 October, in 12 days.
Every month, on the 1st
The best short film shown here each month.
Every film shown here is in the running in the month it is shown and the month after. The winner has the best mix of three things: a score out of 5 for how well it is made, members' votes, and how many people watch it.

For screenwriters: a new brief every month. We set a theme and a rule, and you have until the 21st to write one page of screenplay for it. No camera, no crew, no budget.

The ruleOne page, one location, no dialogue.
No pages yet. Yours could be the first.
Then members read the pages and vote until the month ends. The best writing wins a laurel, and so does the page members vote for most.
