Serpentine is an experimental short film which delves into the hardships of womanhood through a body-horror-ridden and feminist viewpoint. It follows a straight toxic couple, in which the male persona manipulates and belittles the female persona in a 50’s themed dark void of a dinner-setting. A story of transformation, grief and the empowerment of a repressed woman.

The scorecard
Three striking tableaux of a woman in low light, but with no synopsis or dialogue the story itself stays out of reach.
- Storynot read
Not read: no synopsis or transcript given, so what is wanted and what turns cannot be seen.
- Picturestrong
Low-key lighting across all three frames, gold and blue paint catching light against black, a controlled single-subject composition that holds attention.
- Wordsnot read
Not read: no caption track, so dialogue or narration was not seen.
- Worldworks
A polka-dot dress, body paint, and blood on a hand across the three frames suggest a transformation or ritual, though only glimpsed, not built out.
- Voiceworks
The move from demure dress to painted face to blood-smeared hand reads as a deliberate escalation, a choice distinct enough to notice.
I read three published frames showing escalating imagery (dress, paint, blood) but had no synopsis and no caption transcript, so story and words could not be assessed. Read 4 November 2026. How the scorecard works
